Afghan Commandos give back to their community in Kandahar

KABUL, Afghanistan —– As the scorching Afghan sun washed the schoolyard in warm light, Afghan commandos of the 205th Corps and their coalition partners arrived with gifts and messages of hope and security.   They handed out school supplies and toys to children at a school near Kandahar Airfield, Kandahar province, June 18.

KABUL, Afghanistan – Lt. Gen. David M. Rodriguez arrived in Afghanistan yesterday to assume his role as Deputy Commander, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan. This marks his second time to serve in this country. He was the Commanding General, 82d Airborne Division/Commanding General, Combined Joint Task Force76, out of Bagram Air Field, from February 2007 to April 2008.

phoenix KABUL, Afghanistan —Colonel Jim Brandon, Commander, 438th Air Expeditionary Training Group, Kandahar Air Base, provides an update as to the progress in building the Afghan Air Corps. In this article, Colonel Brandon states that air mobility is a critical capability to the counter-insurgency fight. He shows how the Air Corps is steadfastly developing its capability to support MEDEVAC operations, attack helicopter escort, and joint flight operations with U.S. and coalition aircraft.
